Blackpool Zoo

Blackpool Zoo is a “must visit” destination in this popular resort. Mature parkland, lakes and superb enclosures provide homes to many exotic and endangered species from around the world. Lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, apes, penguins and many more family favourites can be found here all year round.

Fish and flippers combine in the new “Active Oceans” arena which unites the fun and frolics of the sealions with the streamlined swimming of the penguins next door. Already boasting the largest sealion pool in the UK, the zoo has extended and refurbished the surround to allow visitors much closer access to these amazing animals and birds. Also new for 2010 is a walkthrough wallaby enclosure which, like the very popular “Lemur Wood” will allow the animals to get as close as they want to the visitors.

Excellent catering, exciting events and gift shops for all pockets complete a value-for-money, healthy and educational day out for all the family. If the kids are still lively, you can pop into the Zoo’s very own huge Play Barn next door to tire them out. Check out the brand new website or become a fan on Facebook or Twitter. You can even book admission tickets online and save money. Be wild on your holiday – come to Blackpool Zoo!
